Northwest Miami-Dade County's Hialeah is a growing community. South Miami borders the University of Miami's main campus and the cities of Coral Gables and Pinecrest. It is known for its leafy residential neighborhoods, parks and vibrant downtown filled with historic buildings, restaurants and unique shops. The town's center area is a popular shopping, dining and entertainment venue with a hometown ambiance. Everyday in South Miami the sidewalks are bustling with students, young and college-aged, families and young professionals who call the area home.
Downtown South Miami is a walkable stretch. Visit here for family friendly restaurants, a blend of chain and independent, a movie theater and outdoor mall, and local hangouts like nail salons, exercise studios and jewelry stores.
