Northwest Miami-Dade County's Hialeah is a growing community. It is renowned for being the location of Hialeah Park Casino, where guests may enjoy live entertainment, slot machines, poker, and horse racing simulcasts. Pink flamingos wander the 200-acre grounds, which have been a Hialeah symbol for almost a century. The grounds are also an Audubon Bird Sanctuary.

Amelia Earhart Park offers a plethora of outdoor recreational opportunities, including mountain biking paths, soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, a petting zoo, and various lakes for wakeboarding and paddleboarding.

The Leah Arts District, a mural-filled neighborhood with art galleries, food trucks, independent boutiques, trendy thrift stores, and antiques stores, is another developing neighborhood in Hialeah. The district frequently arranges live music block parties to bring the neighborhood together.

Homestead, which was formed in 1913 and is the second-oldest city in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, offers the ideal combination of historical attractions, scenic beauty, local eateries, and entertainment venues to make your trip even more enjoyable. Savor Latin food at Casavana Cuban Cuisine, indulge in Caribbean delicacies at Yardie Spice, and explore the larger Homestead Sports Complex as well as other county parks. If you're in the mood for speed, head to Homestead Miami Speedway, where you can take a driver-only or solo NASCAR Racing Experience around the circuit.
 

South Miami borders the University of Miami's main campus and the cities of Coral Gables and Pinecrest. It is known for its leafy residential neighborhoods, parks and vibrant downtown filled with historic buildings, restaurants and unique shops. The town's center area is a popular shopping, dining and entertainment venue with a hometown ambiance. Everyday in South Miami the sidewalks are bustling with students, young and college-aged, families and young professionals who call the area home.

Downtown South Miami is a walkable stretch. Visit here for family friendly restaurants, a blend of chain and independent, a movie theater and outdoor mall, and local hangouts like nail salons, exercise studios and jewelry stores. This all-ages, family-oriented area has a casual Miami vibe and is worth a visit for a low-key afternoon.
